Chiropractic looks at disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, and the effects of these disorders on general health.  Care is used most often to treat back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs and headaches.
Doctors of Chiropractic are trained as primary health-care physicians. Chiropractors practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.

In many cases, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care may be the primary method of treatment. When other medical conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition.

Chiropractors assess patients through clinical examination, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging and other diagnostic interventions to determine when chiropractic treatment is appropriate. Chiropractors readily refer patients to the appropriate health care provider when chiropractic care is not suitable for the patient’s condition, or the condition warrants co-management in conjunction with other members of the health care team.
If you are seeking chiropractic care, there are many chiropractors in the Boise area from which to choose.  Make sure you find the right fit for you.  Ask around for referrals from others in similar circumstances (athletes, victims of auto accidents, chronic pain sufferers, etc.).  Look for a chiropractor who shares similar philosophies as you in terms of health.  Ask what you can expect from your treatment plan.  Will your health insurance cover the fees? Will your health insurance reimburse you for fees associated with the service?
