Massage Therapy is the therapeutic use of external pressure applied to the skin and the muscles of the body. Healers have long realized that the external surface of the body can be used as a conduit or a reflex center to positively influence the internal organs. The body is a complex and intelligent network of muscles, soft tissues and nerve structures that communicate with each other. A disruption or an imbalance in the soft tissues can lead to or contribute to an imbalance elsewhere in the body. Most people will do better with a synergistic combination of natural healing methods. Also, for people who need to use prescription drugs, bodywork is usually compatible with these and will speed the healing process (consult your physician).
